Old New York

Ok,this whole craze about fashion week in NYC is getting closer to the end i figure out i could go a little further and distance myself a bit from fashion, and focus on New York itself.
This morning i read about Old New York, precisely in its 40s,which can be seen from these photos.Apparently Charles Viver Cashmen visited New York from his home Indiana...
Walking through the "Big Apple", Cashmen photographed not only the urban architecture, bridges and other parts of the panorama of Manhattan, but the street, daily life of the New Yorkers.
The amazing fact is that these photos were taken on Kodachrome film, which was the first type of color reversal film manifactured by our beloved Eastman Kodak. Therefore photos look impressive today and newer than they actually are.

Photos are the more important at the moment in which Americans recall the destroyed World Trade Center, because they show that the city overcomes its buildings and survives despite everything.

Some of the buildings, such as McSorley's Old Ale House in Old East Village in Manhattan, look almost identical to today, with the same facade and the same logo.
